Education Assistant and Community Support (Gr. 12)

The Education Assistant and Community Support program enables students to develop the skills to work with people who have exceptional needs, helping them acquire educational, social, vocational, recreational, and personal life skills. This employment-ready eight-month certificate will prepare you for a career working in schools and community agencies.

  • Students will earn 32 credits after successful completion of the program that will be applied to their high school Dogwood Diploma
  • These courses will be recorded on the student's transcript as grade 12 elective courses
  • Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive the Education Assistant and Community Support certificate from TRU
  • Ladders into the Human Services Diploma

Admission requirements:

Who Attends: Any School District No. 73 student with a school recommendation and who meets the criteria listed in the TRU Start Program application.

Date: Students attend in their grade 12 year, starting in September.

Location: Thompson Rivers University

Fee: All ancillary fees are the responsibility of the student. Please see application for estimated costs. Fall and Winter Semester tuition for the student's grade 12 year is paid by SD73 to TRU.
