Business Foundations (Gr. 12)

The Business Foundations program is a rigorous one-year program to help students secure an entry-level accounting or administrative position. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to prepare effective business documents, solve business problems, maintain financial records of a small business, and utilize spreadsheets and other applicable software in day-to-day work activities and more.
- Students will earn 32 credits after successful completion of the program that will be applied to their high school Dogwood Diploma
- These courses will be recorded on the student's transcript as grade 12 elective courses
- Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive the Business Foundations certificate from TRU
- Ladders into the Business Diploma or Degree
Admission requirements:
- Meet TRU admission requirements
- English 12, maximum B (73%)
- Foundations Math 12 or Pre-Calculus 12, minimum C+ (67%)
- Exemplary attendance
Who Attends: Any School District No. 73 student with a school recommendation and who meets the criteria listed in the TRU Start Program application.
Date: Students attend in their grade 12 year, starting in September.
Location: Thompson Rivers University
Fee: All ancillary fees are the responsibility of the student. Please see application for estimated costs. Fall and Winter Semester tuition for the student's grade 12 year is paid by SD73 to TRU.
