RCMP YOUTH ACADEMY 2012

This exciting initiative has developed through a partnership with SD 73 and the Kamloops RCMP. It is a six day Academy, April 29-May 4, running 24 hours a day and will resemble a mini Regina Depot camp. It is facilitated by the RCMP and will cover many of the aspects of training that they encounter in their daily work.

Applications are in the main section of this site or from the school-based TNT coordinators. Students need to be 16 years of age by April 1, 2012 to apply.

SECONDARY SCHOOL APPRENTICESHIP 2011-2012

Students may earn 16 credits (four senior courses) if they are enrolled in the Secondary School Apprenticeship (SSA) Program.

The criteria is:

  • Working in a paid position
  • Working with a qualified trades' person
  • Enrolled in a school

Success will occur with 480 hours of documented work.

Grade 12 graduates who have been in the SSA program will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship six months after graduation if:

  • they are still in the trade
  • they have a C+ average from grade 12

Environmental Studies / Natural Resources Camp 2011

October 13,14 & 15, 2011 are the dates for the McQueen Lake study camp.

The camp is open to all grade 10, 11 and 12 students with a maximum enrollment of 24.

Learn from the experts on topics such as: Land Management, Fire Management, Search and Rescue, Forest Health, Mapping and Engineering.

Completed Student Applications are to be handed in to your school's TNT Coordinator. TNT Coordinator's deadline for submissions to Greg Howard is September 23, 2011.
